Clashes erupted in two different locations in Mukairas, Abyan Province, Thara Front on Monday morning between the Southern Resistance forces and Houthi militia.

The clashes began after the Houthi militia attempted to establish new positions on the front of Thara, in order to circumvent the positions of the Southern Resistance. The clashes were the heaviest in months.

Sources in the Southern Resistance said that they monitored in the past few days the Houthis moving reinforcements, including heavy and medium weapons.

The sources also revealed that the resistance were able to stop the advance, and after heavy clashes this morning, the Houthis returned to their previous positions.

Mukairas is the only district in Abyan that has not been liberated from the Houthis.
