Shabwah- South Yemen

Militias affiliated to the Yemeni Islah Party have converted the headquarters of the Southern Transitional Council in Shabwah province into a detention center where dozens of supporters of the STC and anti-legitimate government political activists are imprisoned.
On August 24, the forces of the Islah Party seized control of the headquarters of the Southern Transitional Council in the Ataq district in Shabwah province, following a ceasefire announcement in response to a call by Saudi Arabia to stop fighting.
The Islah Party militia tampered with and looted all the contents of the headquarters, as part of a series of looting that affected government headquarters and private property by these militias after they arrived in Ataq.
Sources revealed that the Islah Party has transformed the headquarters of the Southern Transitional Council into the largest detention center in Ataq to intimidate activists and supporters of the Council who are arrested and thrown into it.
The sources pointed out that the detainees inside the headquarters of the Southern Transitional Council are subjected to the most horrific forms of torture and abuse by the Islah party militia, which refuses to transfer them to official prisons as the detainees are not under the control of government forces.
